Planning a restoration project

In three workshops, we shared best practices for planning and implementing a restoration project. Descriptions and links to a full set of resources from the workshops can be found below.

We started by learning about native plants commonly used in restoration, then planted seeds in Navajo Nation's Ft. Defiance greenhouse. Resources here.

Native Plants staff Jesse Mike and Kelsey Jensen took care of the seeds until they were ready to travel to Tolani Like to TLE's Sihasin Garden and a new RestoreNet site TLE is hosting.

Next, the team laid out a restoration project--a native plant and pollinator garden. We prepared the site, installed drip irrigation, and  planted in July 2019.

The team pulled all the learning together in the last workshop where small groups planned a restoration project from start to finish. Resources here.
